The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is designed for people who want to work in aged care, home care or community care, or for current care workers who are ready to take the next step in their career. You will learn how to support older people with individualised care, promote independence, work with families and carers, respond to changing needs and contribute to quality service delivery.
At Australian Polytechnic Institute (AuPI), you can study this nationally recognised qualification through online learning with practical activities and mandatory work placement. This gives you the flexibility to study around your life while still gaining the practical experience needed to prepare for aged care work.
You will develop practical and professional skills to support older people in residential, home and community-based care environments. You will also build important workplace skills in communication, teamwork, documentation, care planning, problem-solving, safety, dignity of risk and person-centred support.
Your assessments may include online knowledge questions, projects, case studies, role plays, practical demonstrations, workplace documents, individual service planning tasks, simulated aged care scenarios, workplace observations and evidence collected during work placement. You will receive clear assessment instructions, and your trainer will provide guidance and feedback as you progress.
